they do, but Vauxhall isn’t a brand in the US and Buick/Saturn/Pontiac aren’t brands in Europe so they rebadge things.

I was told that GM owns vauxhall is that true.

i went to the vauxhall web site to look at the cars all most all of them look like Buicks or Saturns and Pontiacs.

….because Vauxhall isn’t a company in the US, GM isn’t changing any names, they have the rights to sell that car in the US so they badge it as a Saturn.

Out of all the hot hatches with 200+bhp today the vauxhall would be my last choice, just knowing how much understeer it had would drive me mad, nippy responsive handling is as important as power in these cars in my opinion.

    1st – Focus ST (facelift)
    2nd – Golf GTi (mk7)
    3rd – Megane Sport 225 (new)
    4th – Astra VXR

The focus offers up the looks and speed of the VXR with decent handling like the Renault and a civilised drive like the Golf, i think it’s the best compromise.

Yeh that’s also true, depends how you look at it and also what you find appealing. I’m at the tender age of 20 still so a bright orange ST is right up my street but if i was say 40 or so i’d probably be looking at the more civlized golf’s. Still, i prefer the overall package on the Focus and it doesn’t have to be bright orange, what about blue or black.. it’d be a tough choice as i am a Ford man but the Golf would definetely be my second choice, then the renault etc…

I understand what you mean, but every time I see a VXR or ST I can’t help but think “gads”. Too loud, brash and ‘look at me’. Somehow the Renault and the Golf are more understated – if that’s what you want.

We’ll see.. i don’t think it’s performance this car is missing, it’s prescence, it definitely deliver’s from behind the wheel and also living with on a day to day basis but if it was sat in the car park next to someone’s bright orange ST or arden blue VXR you would be left feeling a tad jealous.. i would anyway.

like i ve mentioned before is not out yet it will be soon probably for the next year , it is the replacement of the current R32 but instead of having the 3.2l V6 it will have the same 2L from the GTI more precisely from the S3 with a little boost to have 270HP
